Alright i know the game may be old but i would still like some help with my problamSo World in Conflict starts installing, but when i gets to.C:/Program Files/Sierra Entertainment/World in Conflict/wic.sdfIt stops loading for about 5 minutes, and then i get this message:Feature transfer errorFeature: Install Game Data RequiredComponent: Game Files (Default)File: D:/ data2.cabError: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.Anything that might help will be deeply appreciated. What OS are you running? If you have windows 7, that might be the problem right there. It would be a different error, not an I/O error.Unless you think windows 7 is biased against CD drives.I wouldent put it past W7.I had 3 computers.A XP, a vista, and a Windows 7.I woke up one morning about a week after i got my new windows 7 comp, and i swear on my mothers life, i started booting up in tongues. It made the most frightening noises i have ever heard in my entire life.i hadent been that scared since i saw hellraiser when i was like 8.I will never touch another windows 7 comp again. Ever. But it sold pretty nicely on Ebay. So, it possibly could be windows 7 acting up. Because people don't really want to read error messages.Considering how CD drives don't do anything special on windows 7, its 1 of three things, scratches on the CD, lens issues (like it being dirty, or refuses to actually focus), or buffer underrun, which doesn't happen a whole hell of a lot during installs, but it is possible (which would be saying somehow the computer is installing faster than it's reading off the CD.)Just to point out, im running xpUmmm. No clue then. You could try Dl'ing a crack and giving that a go.He can't install it. Cracking it isn't really going to help him. World In Conflict No Hope Mod

((almost 31 hours without sleep))he should just DL the game itself then and install it using that.its not against the law ((yet)). Well, it doesnt have problems installing anything else.Look, chances are i fucked up and scatched the disk, and there isnt much i can do. Sigh its my own goddamn fault.Ive actually had the disk for a while, and i need to install it because i just got a new computer, so its probably broken beyond repair.Hey it happens, no use beating yourself up over it.There is another solution you could try. Make your own image of the disk, like with MagicISO or Alcohol120, then install it from that image. Disk imagers usually have a sort of error correction built in to compensate for such things, it's kind of hit or miss but it might work. Then you can just Re-burn the image onto a blank DVD and it should work fine.EDIT: Oh if you've had it a while, is it still installed on an older computer?

Chances are ill just get i virus on my computer by downloading it from a shady site. LOL like a said im a No0b with computers, so i probably dont know how to use those programs. Chances are ill just get i virus on my computer by downloading it from a shady site.Magic ISO is free, but I'm not sure if it lets you burn DVDs in the free version. I'm sure there are other image creators out there. But like i edited into my last post, is the other computer its installed on still working?
Or did you get a new one because it exploded? My buddy leave it at that helped me try to burn the game onto another disk, but it failed. So now im downloading WOC and its expansion for $20 on Steam, so that way i never have to worry about the disk again. Im not sure whether to feel happy or sad.

Im not sure whether to feel happy or sad.The expansion is fun:o though small.I guess damage is done already though:P I'd be happy about it.Though if the other computer it was installed on still works, you could have just transferred it over and it would still run fine. It's what I did, the only issue I had was Xfire didn't auto-detect it anymore.

Praise it in all its glory! Go to the piratebay and search the comments.SERIOUSLY! Most technical problems get sooner solved in the piratebay, rather than in anyforums, cause there's a TON of people that REALLY want to play the game, and nobody bullshits around with formalities.Technical problems like where the crack is located and how to mount an ISO?Technical problems like 'OMG this game cannot recognize my graphical drivers (Mass Effect), or'Omg this game crashes on startup and gives some weird dll error.'
Or my personal favorite,'OMG, when I go to access the galactic map, I just get a black screen' (Mass Effect)Reloaded: 'Well, since this is happening on ALL versions of the game, it's not our fault, but we fixed it anyway just for fun AND we did it a week before Bioware got around to it!'
